Who is Ryan Rice?

Ryan Rice is a young, up-and-coming drummer, alternative rock artist and music producer based in Los Angeles. Originally from Wallingford, Vermont, Ryan arrived in LA 10 years ago with little more than a pair of sticks and a passion for music. He spent most of the past decade building his skills and establishing an impressive reputation for hard work.

Following in the footsteps of legendary drummers who dove into the LA music scene, accepted every gig and went on to become “first-call” players, Ryan’s solid drumming and natural musicianship quickly led to work with Hollywood’s A-List engineers and producers, including Keith Nelson (Buckcherry), Jun Murakawa (Tool, Slipknot) and Bruce Witkin (Aerosmith, The White Buffalo) and Ethan Kaufmann (Dorothy, Avril Lavigne) to name only a few. He has also performed with Paris Jackson on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, the Boston Calling Music Festival (headlined by Nine Inch Nails) and for several other major events.

These days Ryan is considered a rising star in the drumming community. He consistently gets called to tour and record with a new generation of rock and pop stars— recently drumming for Top 40-charting pop artist Jena Rose, making videos with The Eiffels and American Mile, and hitting the road with indie-rock artist M.A.G.S..

Currently, Ryan is a touring member for the acclaimed guitarist and grammy nominated songwriter Jared James Nichol’s band. Since becoming his drummer, they’ve toured in support of Mr.Big in the EU/UK, done multiple headline runs, festival dates, and are set to open for Queensryche in the fall of 2024.

Yet even though he has played some of today’s biggest stages with some of today’s biggest artists, Ryan is still committed to working hard to build his name, grow his social media presence and become the best drummer he can be.
